The Kidney Foundation Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament is the brain-child of a few financial services industry poker enthusiasts who wanted to create a regular event through which they could enjoy the game of poker and socialize with their industry colleagues. It was also a way to contribute to a great cause through the Kidney Foundation, and generate a prize pool large enough to allow someone to travel to Las Vegas and compete in the annual World Series of Poker (WSOP).
The tournament consists of ten monthly regular season segments and one championship segment, from late summer to spring.
Players receive points based on their placings in each regular season segment.
Their performance during the regular season determines their eligibility for the championship segment.
There are 18 spots available for the championship segment with the majority of the prize pool awarded to the top five placings in the championship segment.
The tournament is currently open to those that are employed in the financial services industry and their qualified guests.
The cost is $60 per regular season segment with two opportunities to re-buy additional chips for $40.
Players have the flexibility to play in as many monthly regular segments as they choose.
We are MGCC licensed and donate 15% of gross revenue to the Kidney Foundation.
